What is
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair reduction is a cosmetic procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light to remove unwanted hair from various parts of the body. The laser works by targeting the hair pigment in the follicle, below the skin’s surface. The laser energy is transformed into heat which destroys the hair follicle leaving surrounding skin unharmed, making the procedure safe and minimally invasive. While some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, most patients report little or no discomfort. Laser hair reduction is a no down time procedure.
Most clients require multiple treatments to achieve the desired results, typically 6-10 sessions spaced several weeks apart. The reason for multiple treatments is because hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only target hair follicles that are in the active growth phase. Laser hair removal treatments last only few minutes each, as the laser affects multiple hairs at the time. After each session you will see substantial visible hair reduction. Additionally, hair will grow progressively slower, lighter, and finer with each treatment. The number of sessions will vary for each individual. Lighter colored hair may require more treatments than darker colored hair. Laser hair removal is ineffective with blond, gray and red hair due to lack of pigment to which laser light is attracted.

What is
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method to permanently remove unwanted hair. It is performed by gently inserting a very fine sterile probe into a hair follicle to deliver a small measured amount of electric current, effectively destroying cells that produce hair growth and preventing future regrowth. This process is repeated for each individual hair follicle, effectively removing unwanted hair permanently. It is a safe and effective method of hair removal that has been used for over 140 years.
Electrolysis is effective on all hair colors (including blond, gray, and red) and all skin types, making it a versatile hair removal option. It is also safe for use on any part of the body. Most clients require multiple treatments to achieve the desired results, as electrolysis can only target hair follicles that are in the active growth phase. The number of treatments needed will depend on factors such as the area being treated, the thickness of the hair, and the client’s individual hair growth patterns. On average, expect to see results in 4-12 months. Clients with hormonal imbalances or preparing for GAS/GCS will require a longer commitment. For areas that have been waxed or tweezed, treatments will be more frequent than for areas that have been previously shaved.
At ALMAZ we only use disposable sterile probes and our non disposable instruments are individually packaged and processed in medical grade SteriDENT dry heat sterilizer. Our FDA approved Apilus xCell is a state of the art computerized electrolysis machine that offers galvanic, thermolysis, and blend options. We are a latex free facility.
